In the quaint community of Atte, in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, I fondly recall a bygone era of serenity and harmony. Villagers would unwind outside their homes, basking in the cool evening breeze, free from worry. Farmers would venture to their fields with peaceful minds, their days filled with promise.

Those were the days when Atte embodied the true spirit of community. Neighbors were more than just acquaintances; they were brothers and sisters, united in love and support. Food was shared, laughter echoed, and hearts were light.

But alas, those carefree days are now a distant memory. Kidnappers have cast a dark shadow over our once-peaceful community, sowing fear and discord. The very fabric of our society has begun to unravel, leaving us fragmented and suspicious of one another.

I long for the good old days, when neighbors were brothers, not stranger, when hared meals strengthened bonds peaceful nights were the norm, when farming was a joy, not a risk when unity and love prevailed.

Let us remember Atte’s golden past and strive to reclaim our lost harmony. May our community once again become a beacon of love, trust, and peace.
