This Rev Father angrily stopped and banned Igbo songs and choruses in his parish saying that it is time to cut the excesses of Ndigbo.

He was quoted as saying that Ndigbo can not continue to dominate other people and everything. The Priest angrily stopped a soul lifting Igbo chorus during the second collection noting that Igbos cannot keep dominating other people even in his Church.

He cited the case of his Benin Diocese where Igbos dominate to the point of becoming the Bishop in person of Akubueze adding that the spirit of God in any place recognizes only languages indigenous to that geographical location.

His statement caused uproar in the church and Igbos who were present at the service reacted immediately and staged a massive walkout of the mass and the Priest saw the anger of the people who refused to take his insult, discrimination and segregation.

report says the Catholic Diocese of Lagos state has intervened and would likely sanction the Priest.
